Digital Atlanta
Way back in 2010 which seems like a long time ago in Internet years, we had a crazy idea to start a “conference” called Digital Atlanta. I put conference in quotes because it’s more of an experience than just a conference. Sure, we have workshops, lectures, roundtable discussions and panels, but the sum is so much greater than the parts. And, it just keeps getting better.
Now in its third year, Digital Atlanta 2012 is going to be amazing. The past two years, we’ve had events spread out all over Atlanta. This was partly out of necessity and operating on a shoestring budget. We’ve decided to keep all the events free and not make Digital Atlanta a money-making venture for now. But, the good news is that, in 2012, we’ve partnered with Atlantic Station and will be holding the bulk of the events in and around that area.
As a co-founder, I do a little bit of everything but I try to focus most of my efforts on programming. Without good content, we couldn’t keep doing this each year. But, we have to rely on the Atlanta community to help us bring Digital Atlanta to life. It’s the superstars right in our own backyard that make this event what it is but we’re also hoping to branch out and find people from all over the Southeast.
